Survey Results are In!

This just in… the survey results have been tallied and are now available for your viewing pleasure (below)!

As you read through the survey results, you will see questions where people were asked to score a certain option on a scale of 1-5. Just so it makes more sense to you, below is the “recipe” for this scoring system…

1 = horrible idea
2 = bad idea
3 = I don’t care
4 = good idea
5 = great idea!

On to the survey results…

Once you read about the issues facing us, you realize the enormity of the situation facing the school board in trying to maintain our schools with a dramatically declining student population. There are no easy answers. But thank you to the School Board for being proactive enough to provide each community with a very comprehensive “report card” on the state of each school,  with some statistical information, and for providing the communities with ample time to review these documents and provide feedback.

And thank you also to Grant Dares, John Kinsella and other community-minded individuals who saw that some leadership  was needed in the Annapolis Royal area in order to develop a community proposal for submission to the Board.

There is no easy answer, and in the end I suspect the answer will involve a number of different approaches. But this community has always been creative, has always come up with innovative ways to accomplish things that other communities only dream of. We need to put that creativity to work now to find a way to create a sustainable Annapolis Area Family of Schools. So let’s get at it!

All for now.
